Living in interesting times

 Well it's very late at night in Cunnamulla as I write this, as I have once more been very slack & not posted for a couple of days.

We had a very enjoyable time in Charleville & learnt just how important this town has been to Australia.

We headed out of Charleville, heading for Cunnamulla but only made it as far as Wyandra, a town of about 20 or less people, where we opted to have a counter lunch at the pub.

As it turned out this was a great move as the lunch was magnificent & the sticky date pudding with cream & ice cream was the second best on earth. We then proceeded to 'The Beach' on the Warrego river. We decided to make this an impromptu overnight free camp, we were the only ones there & it was a breath taking location. We had a wonderful fire on the beach that night & Graham cooked us all bacon & egg sandwiches for breakfast the next morning, on the same fire. I believe this was one of the best & most relaxing camps I can ever remember.

Today we have taken on a new travelling companion, a 6 week old pup named 'Rocko the second' it will be Yvonnes dog & they are currently both fast asleep on Yvonnes pillow.

I believe we will be heading to Yowah tomorrow, after our ride, to dig for opals. I hope we have enough space in the ute to haul them all home.

I did another drone shot this morning at 'The Beach' but I am too knackered to edit it tonight & I don't know when we will have internet again, so stay tuned.

Charleville was the largest air base in Australia during the second world war with hundreds of heavy bombers & fighters, many of which did long range sorties to participate in the battle of the coral sea.
