Surat to Mitchell

Another relatively short relocation to Mitchell, where we are camped by the wier.

This is all new country to us & I like it very much. It seems every kilometre we go further West & closer to the desert the better I like it. I don't really understand why that is as I have always lived not far from the coast & therefore most of my life I was never exposed to this type of country. There was a short period as a new born baby that I lived in Cook on the Nullarbour, maybe that somehow soaked in.

Heres one of Sue that is supposed to be on the end of the pano at the pub, but it wouldn't stick

                                                                    Balonne river.

                                                                   Shire hall Surat.

Still used for functions, Surat museum.

Mitchell wier, our camp site for the next 2 nights. The sky currently looks black & ominous.

The Surat pub dinner pano, where Sues' picture would not stick to.
